Knox County School Board Votes in Split Vote to Withdraw from CLASS

Tennessee’s BIG Four School Districts have been part of a group called CLASS (Coalition of Large School Systems) Memphis City, Metro Nashville, Knox County and Hamilton County. The Knox County School Board last night voted to withdraw from CLASS. The CLASS dues were $37,500. With the vote to depart from CLASS now leaves only three districts in the group, only in West, Middle and Southeast Tennessee.

Mike McMillan and Steve Triplett made the motion, Susan Horn, Betsy Henderson and Chair Kristi Kristy – 5 voting in the affirmative. Jennifer Owen, Daniel Watson and Katherine Bike voting No and Rev. Dr. John Butler passed.
